COMPASS is a private, non-profit organisation based in Innsbruck, Austria, dedicated to promoting the social, economic and cultural integration of migrants and refugees with an intercultural focus. In pursuit of its mission, COMPASS undertakes a variety of initiatives at local, regional and national levels, as well as participating in EU projects, targeting both adults and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The organisation’s activities include Language and digital training: Providing comprehensive language and digital skills training programmes specifically tailored to disadvantaged groups, equipping them with essential communication and technology skills.

Career and Educational Guidance: Providing personalised career and educational guidance services to disadvantaged individuals, equipping them with the tools and resources necessary to effectively pursue their career and educational aspirations.

Vocational training for disadvantaged young people: Provide vocational training programmes tailored to the specific needs of the Tyrolean labour market, taking into account the different needs and learning styles of the target groups, especially disadvantaged young people.

Cultural and social events: The organisation of various cultural and social events that serve as platforms to promote interaction and understanding between people from disadvantaged backgrounds and the wider local community. These events aim to promote acculturation and social cohesion between different groups.

Implementation of EU projects: Active participation in and implementation of various EU-funded projects in line with COMPASS’ mission and objectives, using external resources and expertise to increase its impact and reach.

Currently, COMPASS operates with a dedicated team of seven paid staff who bring extensive project management experience to the organisation’s structure. These professionals play a crucial role in the successful implementation of COMPASS’ initiatives, ensuring their effectiveness and sustainability in promoting the integration and well-being of migrants and refugees within the community.
